The Dobson Organ
The Organ at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is the 83rd Organ produced by Dobson Organ Builders in Lake City, Iowa. Dobson Organ Builders, founded by Lynn Dobson in 1974, has built organs for such locations as the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, California.
Opus 83 features a facade drastically different than most church instruments. Departing from the normal casework, the pipes are arranged in a contemporary 3D pattern. The facade is rather unconventional, being essentially a screen composed of hard maple bars with a natural finish (unstained). The materials that hold the facade pipes in place are painted dark blue and burgundy. The new 27-rank Organ features Mechanical key action, Electric stop action with 8 level combination action, and a magnificent free standing solid oak case.

Join the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd on Sunday, September 10, from 1-3 PM as we invite neighbors and others interested to tour our newly renovated worship space, see the Dobson Organ, and enjoy refreshments in a casual atmosphere.
